Update 7/13

As of this morning we have produced 1012 tons.  That leaves 1588 tons left for the month to produce to make our goal of 2600 tons.  Yesterday there was issues surrounding the edge following the Yankee and blistering off, slinging stock back to the felt section.  This seemed to be an edge blistering issue.  The Yankee pressure was dropped 2 psi, the uhle boxes were cleaned out,  and the felt was given multiple cleanings from the Dubois DuPulse system.  Coming from the weekend the hoods almost were run to max control.  The flooded nips were turned off and the DuPulse system was reengaged.  The hoods had then dropped to under 700 °F.  We were also able to bring the speeds back up to 5150 from 5000 fpm.

Please Note

·         Please note that the DuPulse system and the flooded nips being turned up appear to not mix well.  We tend to always end up carrying too much water.  We prefer to keep the felt section flooded nips turned off or barely running.

·         We also ran a no wet strength trail for HPC-North after everything settled out Monday.  We seemed to run a little more stable during the trial than when we run with wet strength.

·         We have almost run through what is left of the 775 coating.  After this tote is used up, we will be transitioning to the Amorous 700 coating.  Please be aware that this coating sets a little harder and you most likely will need to reformulate the coating package formula.

·         If we do go down for any reason, at start up please check the Yankee gearbox lube oil level.  There is a jug of oil up top next to the gear box in case we lose level.

·         On the safety front: Please be aware that the safety curtain is down in the reel section.

·         Please also continue to hydrate yourself and get yourself someplace cool if you feel overheated.
