Received these photos from HPC-South this afternoon..
They encountered eight rolls that had core spacers that were 3 – 5 inches wide.
The winders in Hattiesburg can handle 1 – 2 inch spacers but there are serious safety issues with wider ones.
The rolls were made on 10-Nov during the Grade 301 run. Roll ID's 10111033 and 34
Of greater concern is that two of the rolls were 25-7/8" trim rolls.
Under no circumstances are spacers to be used for rolls trimmed less than 100"
We have plenty of cores available than can be cut to the correct/exact width necessary to
preclude the need for spacer rings.
